Originally from Hardy County, WV, Jesse Cook always enjoyed
helping his classmates with mathematics.
He graduated from high school in 2011, then attended Potomac State
College of WVU before transferring to the main campus of West Virginia
University to complete his studies.
After graduating with a Bachelor of Arts in mathematics and physics in
2015, Cook decided to do graduate work at WVU because of how much he enjoyed
his experience at WVU as an undergraduate.
He completed a Master of Science in Mathematics in 2017, and has been a
lecturer in the WVU School of Mathematical and Data Sciences since 2019. Cook loves teaching calculus courses, as it
provides an opportunity for early college students to challenge themselves and
learn math they likely have not experienced before.
