Our mathematics and statistics tutors can help you find answers to your questions, review material for quizzes and tests, provide you with test preparation and test taking tips, help you establish short and long term study goals, review exams from previous semesters, and much more.


The Math Learning Center

The Math Learning Center will be open January 17 - April 28 unless the university is closed for holidays or other reasons. To find a specific MLC tutor, view the Math Learning Center Schedules by Tutor (Google Sheets).  Private tutors  are also available for hire in Mathematics courses.

**Research Funding: Much of our online tutoring is funded by a research grant. If your tutor is funded by the grant, they will be recording the tutoring session as part of the research project. All information will be kept as confidential as possible and will be used for research purposes only. Tutors funded by the grant are marked with an asterisk on the tutor schedule.  You can view more details about the research here .


Statistics Tutoring Center: Eiesland G29

The mission of the WVU Statistics Tutoring Center or "center" is to progress student understanding within statistical coursework. You can use the tutor profiles to find a match, possibly for some upper-level STAT class.

  • No-additional-charge assistance with STAT 111, 211, 215, and 312
  • All tutors can help with STAT 111, 211, and 215
  • The schedule by tutor below indicates who can help with STAT 312
  • No appointment needed; drop in any time the center is open
  • Closed when WVU does not have classes and closed during finals week

Additional Notes: The center has 5 PCs with current versions of  JMP Pro and  Project R, and any WVU student is welcome to use these computers when the center is open. The center is not intended to support WVU-related statistical consulting, but some tutors may be able to provide limited research support subject to their background and availability.

The Math Learning Center will be open for Summer 2023 beginning Monday, May 15. The Math Learning Center will be closed Sunday May 28, Monday May 29, and Tuesday July 4.
