Fang Yang, teaching associate professor in the Eberly College’s School of Mathematical and Data Sciences, was awarded the Nicholas Evans Awards for Advising Excellence in recognition of her work to provide outstanding advising and mentoring to students.

American Statistical Association’s March 2022 Issue of Amstat News features 12 women in `Celebrating Women in Statistics and Data Science’, including Dr. Snehalata Huzurbazar, Associate Director for Data Science. The undergrad minor in Data Science was recently approved and the catalogue is being updated to include this. The minor will start in Fall 2022. For more information, contact Dr. Snehalata Huzurbazar (snehalata.huzurbazar@mail.wvu.edu), the Associate Director for Data Science.

Last year the Eberly College of Arts and Sciences established a new recognition for faculty and staff – The Eberly College Legacy Award.  This award honors those who have made significant contributions to the Eberly College and its mission of liberal arts education. The recipients efforts have epitomized the highest values and standards of professionalism and all those who have worked with them are better for it.
