Accommodations

Participants and speakers will be staying at  Scholar Hotel, Morgantown, which is located in downtown and in a 10-minute walk from the main campus. At most 45 of our participants’ lodging will be covered by our sponsors. To secure your reservation at this hotel, you need to register for the conference by April 1, 2023 on this website.  Graduate students need to share rooms to get supported for lodging.

Travel Information 

West Virginia University is located in  Morgantown, an award winning “small” city with a metropolitan population of about 138,176. The city is at the intersection of interstate routes I-79 and I-68, with ready access to Pittsburgh (75 minutes) and Washington D.C. (3.5 hours). 

Parking

There are three parking lots you can use for the conference. Parking is FREE Saturday and Sunday: 

      Lot 10 is adjacent to the Life Sciences Building.

      Lot 7 and  Lot 11 are across the Beechurst Avenue (on both sides of the Stansbury Hall, next to the river).

Parking is also free at the Scholar Hotel, Morgantown. The hotel has a closed parking garage attached to the hotel. Additional public parking options are available next door if needed. You can park at the hotel and walk to Life Sciences Building in less than 15 minutes. 

Flying

Your options are to fly directly to Morgantown’s airport (MGW), or to fly into Pittsburgh (PIT) and arrange ground transportation to Morgantown. 

Ground Transportation

Bus between the Pittsburgh Airport and Morgantown: The Mountain Line provides ground transportation between Pittsburgh and Morgantown via the Grey Line, twice daily. The cost is $25 each way ($50 for a round trip). If you want to check the schedule or make a reservation, please click:  Pittsburgh airport to Morgantown and  Morgantown to Pittsburgh Airport.  (Note: There is no shuttle service on Sunday.) 

Rental car: It is also possible to  rent a car at the Pittsburgh Airport. The distance to Morgantown is about 80 miles.
