Applied Analysis REU

Research Experiences for Undergraduates
June 1 - July 26, 2025

Participants must be U.S. citizens, nationals or permanent residents (“green card” holders) to be supported by NSF and not receive their bachelor’s degree during the program. If selected, you must show proof of citizenship or permanent residency.

Student selection is competitive, and special consideration will be given to students attending colleges and universities in the Appalachian region, which spans 13 states in the eastern United States, as well as to underrepresented groups such as minority students, women, students with disabilities, veterans, students in rural areas, first-generation college students, and students of low socioeconomic status. Applications from rising sophomores to seniors will be accepted. Participants must be enrolled in a mathematics or related undergraduate degree program with sufficient background in mathematics (for example, a course in ordinary differential equations is recommended).

Please review the application instructions below and then click on the link on the right side of this page to access the NSF Education & Training Application (ETAP) portal.
